MPE = Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression.
Wherein every finger press has independent control to transform a sound. It makes me feel like a rock โnโ roll squid being everywhere everything all at once โ like the responsiveness of acoustic traditions, but with augmented superpowers. Iโm jaunting further into MPE instruments like the Expressive E Osmose and ROLI Seaboard to make my music.
Iโm all about the maximinimalist melodies and self-constructive urges. Every MPE-infused track here is chock-full of vibrant ideas and chordal surprises, weaved into united strands of diverse influences: 1950s prom nights, point โnโ click adventures, North Star synthesis, rigged games of chance, classic Mac games backed by techno-house, triplet-adjacent swing, Petergabrielian excursions into parallel world music, the Lament Configuration as playable toy, oversequenced IDM, Amiga demoscene (I keep returning), Disneyโs Main Street Electrical Parade, Hatch chiles, Meow Wolf aesthetics, accelerating AI, dealing with the death of my cat Lady and heroes like Vangelis and Ryuichi Sakamoto, Nam June Paikโs augmented reality, and the Gallium Studios teamโฆ to name a few.
